You see, he died because health insurers refused to pay for the care he needed: had they paid for it, they wouldn’t have made as much profit. He died so that millionaires can get even richer, and that’s the ONLY God-damned reason he died.
So here’s a big “Fuck You” to anyone and everyone who opposes Health Care Reform. It could have saved his life.
Here’s another one to anyone who opposes the Affordable Care Act (flawed though it is, it at least kept my boy alive a bit longer).
Here’s a big “Fuck YOU, Motherfucker” to all the legislators and pundits who are still trying to block further improvements in accountability, care, coverage and quality in our national health care system.
Simply put, if you are in favor of a health care system that is purely based on greed and profit (as America’s is and has been), then you are in favor of people dying so millionaires can get even richer. And yes, Fuck You for that.
Fuck You, John Boehner. Fuck You, Mitch McConnell. Fuck You, Aetna. Fuck You, Sam Brownback. Fuck everyone who is like you, too.
You want objectivity when my kid got killed, motherfucker? Yeah, right. If it was your kid, you’d be saying the same thing I’m saying right now. So, no, I’m not objective on this topic.
And fuck it, I don’t care. Aetna banked big bucks, their people got bonuses, and where did that money come from? It came from denying care and saving money thereby: and by so doing, killing people like my son. So fuck objectivity. Sometimes, objectivity is just a bunch of rationalized, sophist bullshit.
In closing, here’s one more “FUCK YOU, MOTHERFUCKER” FOR ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTS THE POLICIES THAT KILLED MY KID.
Mr. Blunt and Cranky
So sorry for your tragic loss. And the kids of those soulless tools you mentioned could not suffer the same fate, because those greedy monsters are set for life.
Thank you.
As a parent who also lost an only child my heart is breaking for you. I wish I could tell you it will get better but the process is long an arduous.
Thank you. Good luck on your healing journey.
Well not everyone can get everything they need. Your view seems quite simplified. Try doing something constructive with your anger perhaps?
Really?
People like you are why we need Single Payer. Most Third World countries have a better healthcare delivery system than the US. When corporate profits are the most important thing, of course “not everyone can get everything they need”. That’s sort of the point – keep most people poor and struggling among themselves so they don’t notice how the 1% is licking their pockets.
This IS constructive: putting a human face on an issue so that it resonates with people.
“picking”
Did your son or you on his behalf purchase a health insurance policy that was contractually required to cover the treatment in question? You statement seems to imply different answers at different points.
If so then you are aboslutely right and those people who denied that coverage need to be held accountable.
If you did not, then why do you assume your son was entitled the services of the medical staff to perform treatment for which they would not be compensated or to compensation for said service from an agency with no obligation for such?
Either way, my heart goes out to you for your loss.
Take your tendentious question and shove it where the sun does not shine. At no point is there any ambiguity such as you describe. Nor should you assume that I might be an uneducated consumer. I appreciate the kind words you put at the end of this insulting comment, but frankly, they ring hollow at best.
I assume by your claim of not being an uneducated consumer that you did have such a policy in place, otherwise logic dictates that you would not be expecting the insurance company to pay for those services. If so, while it certinally will not make up for your tragic loss, I wish you the best of luck in holding those responsible for not fulfilling their contractual requirement responsible for the results of that particular negligence.
Ah, yes! Did he have a contract that specified coverage for what he needed to live? If not, then those who let him die, but could have saved him, were well within THEIR RIGHTS to let him die. No offense bluntandcranky, but this “if you don’t pay for it you don’t deserve it” asshole is the reason we must move quickly beyond Obamacare.to the next step: universal health care.
None taken by me. He was trying to sound reasonable whilst spouting barely- concealed Wingnut horseshit.
Why that sounds a lot like an endorsement of slavery, or are you contending these services can be provided without the property and/or services of others?
Everyone, observe the Wingnut species, trying to distract. That’s what they do. Make notes so the next time you encounter one in the wild, you are protected from this particular beastie.
I am so sorry for your loss. As the mother of a child with a pre-existing condition I say we go burn the mother fucking buildings down and ask questions later. I’ll bring the gas.
I’d be content with taking away their ability to rake in billions of dollars’ worth of ill-gotten gains, myself.
I think Melissa is unfortunately not too far off the mark. I think it’s going to have to be some sort of revolt, like people just refusing en masse to pay medical bills and insurance premiums. The non-system would collapse…and it NEEDS to.
I’m not much on the revolution approach, because of all the people who would have no access to health care during the cataclysm.
I am so, so sorry for your loss, which DID NOT need to happen.
It is terrible that the ultra-right “free-marketeers” (Ayn Randists) consider your loss just part of “doing business.”
Why the HELL single-payer is not even ON THE TABLE IN THIS COUNTRY is something I will NEVER understand!
For those who love to tell bullshit horror stories about Canada…I have a good friend who lives there. Several years ago, he needed triple-bypass open heart surgery. He got it. No delays, no waiting, and he wasn’t bankrupted like he’d be here.
Also, I live in a border city. Our hospitals are NOT full of sick Canadians who can’t get care at home! Why the hell is this fiction perpetuated?
I would rather be a socialist than support the kind of horseshit the “marketeers” do here.
Good points about single-payer.
Anyone who makes money off the sick and dying our worthless piles of disease infested shit.
That dignifies worthless piles of disease-infested shit far too much, Janet.
Its like you read my thoughts! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the
book in it or something. I feel that you can
do with a few % to power the message house a bit, however other than that, this is excellent blog.
A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.
Heya superb blog! Does running a blog such as this require a lot of work?
I’ve absolutely no expertise in coding however I had been hoping to start my own blog soon.
Anyway, should you have any recommendations or techniques
for new blog owners please share. I know this is off subject nevertheless I simply needed to
ask. Kudos!
