Maybe it’s the holiday time that makes so many people nostalgic, thinking of what they miss, how things used to be, and how everything has changed “these days.” Being no exception, at least not this time, what I miss most is being able to have heroes. Not just in my childhood but throughout history, mankind in every age has had its heroes. Whether mythical or real, from literature or real life, there have been those people we could look up to as “special.”  You know who I mean. Although most likely different for everyone reading this, I’m talking about certain leaders and personalities who have given us something to admire, to feel good about, to want to even emulate in our daily lives. They resonate through the culture and sometimes through the world as beacons of something good, something with some kind of meaning that we could take to heart…
