“When I was hungry, you cut my food stamps; when thirsty, you allowed my water to be polluted for corporate profit; when I was a stranger, you detained and deported me. When I was naked and vulnerable, without a job or income, you denied me extended unemployment compensation, holding it hostage to a political agenda. When I was ill, you refused to extend Medicaid; when I was in prison, you denied me justice in favor of revenge, and executed me.”

And the righteous replied,”When was it that we saw You hungry, thirsty, a stranger, naked, ill or in prison?” And He said, “Anything you did to one of these–however humble, poor and powerless–you did to me.”

This was submitted to the Cleveland Plain Dealer by Chester E. Ramey, and was published in their LTTE section on 1/19/14. And a better case against the Republicans cannot be made, in this blogger’s humble opinion.

What would Jesus do and say, if he were here today? Probably something a lot like this.

Give this a think, oh “Conservative Christians”. Give it a really good think.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

His name is not Abdul Ibrahim, it is Andrew Scott Boguslawski. He was caught with weapons, ammo, dozens of bombs, and other tools of the terrorist trade in Ohio a few weeks ago. He looks to be an average American on the surface. The media has been pretty restrained in their reporting, treating it like a normal criminal case. No one is freaking out.

His name is not Muhammed Bin Arjara, it is Mark Kulis. He is one of those “sovereign citizen” nutbars, and was also busted for having illegal weapons and explosives. The media has been pretty restrained in their reporting, treating it like a normal criminal case. No one is freaking out.

His name is not Abou Ben Adhem, it is Chris Christie. His administration put millions of Americans at risk by shutting down part of the George Washington Bridge (a known terrorist target) on 9/11 of last year. The media has been pretty restrained in their reporting, hardly even mentioning the al-Quaida connection at all. No one is freaking out.

But just imagine the hue and cry and universal brouhaha had any of these three mutts been swarthy males with “foreign-sounding” names. The “news” media would be in 24/7 panic-inducing, fear-mongering, hair-on-fire, freakout mode. The cops would be deploying all manner of special weaponry. Americans would be told to use extra caution, to look under our beds, to be “vigilant”.

But since these are honkie dudes with “normal” names, America pretty much yawns.

Gentle Reader, this is nonsense. The skin color of someone who does you harm makes no difference whatsoever when you are lying in an ambulance or morgue. And paying undue attention to someone’s skin color or religious background when trying to decide if they are a threat makes it far more likely that somebody else you aren’t looking at will blow you to Kingdom come.

Or, of course, the whole “Global War on Terror” schtick could just be a con job, a cynical manipulation of the public so as to enrich the rich and gull the gullible; and maybe we should just calm down and treat all terrorists as common criminals, like we are those two lily-white curs in Ohio… Naah. Couldn’t be.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Nope, not making this up. From the article:

Embattled “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has been suspended from his show by A&E for his remarks about gays and African-Americans, and now some high-profile conservatives are rallying to his side and defending him. On Friday, GOP congressional candidate Ian Bayne went all in, comparing Robertson to civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

“In December 1955, Rosa Parks took a stand against an unjust societal persecution of black people, and in December 2013, Robertson took a stand against persecution of Christians,” Bayne said in an email to supporters.

Yeah, because a privileged multimillionaire who hates gays and wants God to send them all to Hell is exactly like an oppressed Black working woman who was tired of being oppressed.

Can we take up a collection to buy these Wingnut politicians and pundits a nice Christmas basket full of clues?

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Evidently, some Christians need reminded: over the weekend, Google was blasted for its Doodle on Easter Morning. Said Doodle was a picture of Cesar Chavez, the late humanitarian and advocate for migrant workers.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky first heard of the “controversy” via his Facebook page, on which he saw a fair few outraged posts about Google’s supposed anti-Christian Doodle du jour. at first he thought the posters were too ignorant (or too full of Right-wing political nonsense) to know the actual deeds and beliefs of Cesar Chavez, but that was an overestimation of their intelligence.

No, the angrily-tweeting Christians were upset that there were no cutesy pictures of Easter eggs, Easter Bunnies or such. Yes, you read that correctly. They think the AntiChrist has arrived and its name is a search engine’s, because there was no hippity-hoppity, floppy-eared, egg dispensing cartoon creature prancing across the homepage.

Now, this is not to diss bunnies, eggs, candy and plastic green grass; nor is it meant to denigrate the sacrifice made by Rabbi Jesus of Nazareth. This writer appreciates all of these things.

But it makes you wonder if any of those protesting have actually read their Bibles lately. Because if they had, they’d know that cute little Lagomorphs and colored avian ova do not appear in the tale of Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection. Nowhere. Not once.

Mr. B & C

In Mr. Blunt and Cranky’s experience, real victims rarely play the victim card. He has friends and family members who suffer from MS, cancer, paralysis, poverty, you name it: and nary a one of them asks for pity or to have slack cut for them. No, these folks tough it out and deal as best they can. Admirable.

So when people like Mitt and Ann Romney whine about people being mean to them, it does not ring true: yes, she deals with horrible illnesses and he gets a lot of crap flung at him. But any objective observer would note that it is a helluva lot easier to deal with such problems when you have hundreds of millions of dollars than it is when all you have is Medicare and Social Security. Or even less.

When the leaders of Hamas and their antagonists both whine about the other guy beating them up on the playground and taking their lunch money, it does not ring true: because both sides are killing innocent bystanders as they petulantly bomb the s*** out of each other. Both the Jewish and Palestinian peoples have been horribly victimized over the years; and their leaders should recognize that self-evident fact and work together to ameliorate the horrific suffering of their people instead of pointing fingers at the “other side” and throwing the victim card ad nauseum.

Many other examples exist, and have done so for eons: American Christians who, though they are a majority, claim to be victimized by all sorts of phantom bogeymen; the Iranian President who exports terrorists and claims to be the victim of numerous Satanic shadowy international terrorist cabals; the wealthy who complain about taxation while paying the lowest rates in nearly a century; so many people who sit atop millions of genuine victims whilst falsely claiming to be victims themselves.

In fact, these faux victims are themselves victimizing other people. And that is truly revolting.

Mr. B & C

Recently, Richard Mourdock  (R-Pedophiliaville) claimed that babies conceived as a result of rape were part of God’s plan, AKA the will of God. So rape away, boyo, saith St. Mourdock – your vile, heinous, despicable crimes are pre-ordained and sanctioned by the Father, Son and Holy Ghost – if they result in unborn children, that is. Who knew that rape was such a holy and Godly activity?

Not that he’s the only idiot out there making such revolting claims: Rick Santorum said something similar, and Paul Ryan supports mandatory child-visitation rights for rapists who impregnate their victims.  Note, by the bye, that it’s pretty much always “Christian Republicans” who spout these God-is-pro-crime ideas, and they are not unique amongst their ilk – quite a few of them hold such views. (Click Here to see a small sampling:

It’s fashionable once again (as it was in the Dark Ages) to claim that everything is “God’s will”, especially if you don’t like something, you’re too lazy to stand up and solve a problem, or if calling something “His plan” scores you political points. The notion that we are merely meat puppets dangling on invisible strings can be a comfort to those individuals who are so craven as to not take responsibility for their actions, or the consequences thereof.

These wimpy, corrupt, slimy heaps of donkey bollocks must have forgotten that, according to Scripture, our actions carry consequences that may be dealt with in this life and the next (how could that be if they were God’s will?). They also mistake capability for action: in other words, they don’t seem to suss that just because God is omnipotent, that doesn’t mean he always USES all of his power.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky has daughters and a granddaughter. Anybody: “Republican”, Christian or otherwise, who thinks God wants them raped; well, this writer doesn’t know if God wants him to cut off your wedding tackle and cram it down your throat, and he doesn’t much care; because he’ll do it anyway, and take the heat for his actions. God would not be blamed, because this human would have chosen to do them of his own volition. Just like the f***ing criminal pervert scumball did.

We have free will and power of our own: so grow up and stop blaming God for the awful things humans do, you right-wing Fundagelical wussies.

Mr. B & C

The Crown O’ Polished Turds for this here week goes to the Romney Campaign. In a truly epic bit of fertilizer-slinging, he claims that ObamaCare (nee’ RomneyCare) is a war on religion, and that RomneyCare (now ObamaCare) is not.

This is such an enormous heap of bulls***, Mr. Blunt and Cranky is inserting polished bull turds into this week’s crown. Massachusetts had requirements for churchish organizations to provide birth control, and ol’ Willie M. Romney made no fuss: nor did he screech when the Bushies enforced the same rule during the early Oughts.

If the rules are essentially the same, then the effects are essentially the same. And that means: if that nasty dark-skinned socialist Prexy is a-wagin’ war on religion; why then, so too were the idiot coke-head fake Texan, and the mutant-haired Mormon tax-shelter junkie.

Somebody goose that gander Mitt, and let him know that he is a fierce anti-Christian warrior, too. Onward, lying soldiers, marching…

In 2002, Elizabeth Smart was abducted and abused by a perverted, nasty, demented, sicko mother****er who claimed to be following the Bible.  Authorities, citizens and media figures of all sorts busted their asses to rescue the child and lock the rat-bastard scumbucket pedophile perpetrator up, as well they should have.

These days, the American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer has issued a fatwa call to do the pretty much the same thing: kidnap children from their parents, because the Bible told him to tell you to do so.  But Americans are pretty much ignoring this incitement (although the cops might do a few things here and there when people actually heed the AFA’s calls to commit heinous crimes).

Q: Why are they so blasé about potential victims of kidnappings by these faux-Christian zealot scumbuckets? A: The Fischer King wants us all to kidnap kids from same-sex couples. The link below describes the sort of criminal activity that the AFA is inciting: a woman who betrayed her vows, violated court orders, traumatized her own child, broke many laws, and is now an international fugitive. She was aided and abetted in these apparently-ever-so-Christ-like crimes by a group of allegedly “religious” criminals:

Now we see two recent tweets that condone kidnapping, and incite people to commit such illegal acts:

Stealing children is so despicable, it is hard to imagine anyone supporting it. Oh, that’s right, the AFA demonizes gays, so it’s all good. Right. Uh-huh.

Hey, if this Fischer dirtbag happened to be a Moslem instead of a “Christian”, the FBI would already be waterboarding his ass. But since he’s a white “Christian” American male advocating the committing of crimes against gay folk, it’s apparently no big deal.

It’s just damned lucky for Elizabeth Smart that her parents were straight. If she had come from a same-sex family, she might still be suffering abuse, rape, and torture to this very day, because of the antediluvian attitudes of so many Americans.  It is also safe to say that Bryan Fischer would be defending the scumbucket child rapist who said he was following the Bible, tweeting on his behalf and so on.

People, listen up: children are wonderful, precious gifts to our world. No matter what you may think of their parents, kidnapping is a vile, horrific crime that traumatizes these innocent kids in ways we can hardly fathom. And anyone who advocates such a crime…well, let’s hope that Hell is even worse than we think, because anything less would not be punishment enough for Bryan Fischer, Brian Mitchell, Kenneth Miller, Lisa Miller, and anyone else who would rip a family asunder, scar an innocent child for life, and then claim that Jesus wanted them to do it.
