Yes, as soon as Douche Duke announced that a loudspeaker would be used to anounce an upcoming Muslim church service, Billy Graham’s son went ballistic. Evidently, the loudspeaker in question would unleash some serious kinda Armageddon were anyone but Fundagelical “Christians” to utter a call to prayer via its Holy Electromagnetic Mechanism:

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Days after announcing that a Muslim call to prayer would echo from its historic chapel tower, Duke University changed course Thursday following a flurry of calls and emails objecting to the plan.

The original plan drew the ire of evangelist Franklin Graham, who urged Duke alumni to withhold support because of violence against Christians that he attributed to Muslims. Schoenfeld said emails and calls came from alumni and others in the community.

“As Christianity is being excluded from the public square and followers of Islam are raping, butchering, and beheading Christians, Jews, and anyone who doesn’t submit to their Sharia Islamic law, Duke is promoting this in the name of religious pluralism,” said a post on Graham’s Facebook page.

This writer fails to see how sending a few words over a wire, through a magnet and out via a paper cone could somehow result in rape, decapition, and general brouhaha. Apparently, the Douche Duke speaker in question is somehow imbued with magical, sanctified, religious powers that must be used only for Jesus-centric announcements. If one were to misuse the Holy Douche Duke Loudspeaker, Jihad would evidently be unleashed on campus.

Mind, when Douche Duke U already has a student porn star, academic misconduct, alleged rapes, and other edgy activities going on, so maybe they can’t be too careful about allowing any more sinful activity to somehow violate the Holy Loudspeaker. (They should also maybe consider changing the name of the Fuqua Business School to something less open to double-entendre. Just sayin’.)

Really, Duke? No, seriously, really? Only a total Douche would act like you are acting.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Really, people, come on. A party full of corrupt, seditious, hypocritical, mendacious motherf***ers was given expanded power by America’s Idiot Electorate, and they are doing just what they promised to do. In the first day or so of “Republican” control, they have:

Number A, elected a KKK-loving white supremacist to a senior leadership position;

Letter 2, tried to destroy a vital part of Social Security,

Thirdly, tried to once again violate the Constitution’s separation of powers by pushing foward to a vote “approving” the Keystone XL pipeline.

And that was in a matter of hours, with lots more to come. Nobody should be surprised: all of these things (secessionism, classism, racism, corruption and greed) have been core GOPee values for decades now. They said, over and over, that they would gut the social security system, throw the environment in the crapper, oppress people of color, and steal our money to give to their 1% cronies. Now they are fulfilling their promises.

America, you knew this would happen, and most of you either helped it happen, or sat back and let it happen. Unless you, personally, were either: not allowed to vote; or voted so as to defeat each and every Teapubbie in each and every race when last you cast a ballot, it’s partly your f*** ing fault.

We are all about to suffer because many Americans are: stupid; evil: lazy; or some combination of the three. Just don’t try to convince this writer that you are shocked. You’re not. We all knew what it would mean if the Repubs took control, and now they have control.

We’re all about to be f***ed. They told us they would f*** us, and they are now dropping trou and bending the lot of us over their desks. Surprising? Not at all.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

No matter how big a motherf***er you are, sometimes you’ll have to pay for what you’ve done to all those mothers. Even Walmart’s CEO has to account for his abuse of that company’s “associates”. Mr. Duke was forced out after the National Labor Relations Board announced its intention to prosecute the company for crapping on its workers.

Walmart, you see, really hates the idea of unions. Or anything that might increase labor costs, like, you know, paying a living wage, providing benefits, and so on. And anytime an “associate” (which sounds a lot like “oh s***”. Coincidence? Not in this case.) objects to being treated like a toad in front of bulldozer, Walmart retaliates. Even the NLRB can’t believe the crap that Wal-Mart is pulling, so they are going after the company.

Walmart can charge such low prices because they shift the costs to the American taxpayer: they pay such crap wages, a large percentage of their workers are on food stamps, HEAP, ADC, CHIP, and other expensive government acronyms. They also get tax breaks on the corporate level, in the form of abatements, TIFs, and other corporate welfare. So you pay at least twice for every purchase at Walmart: once at the register, and then with your payroll taxes, and in many cases again with your property taxes. (That’s three times, in case you’re keeping score.)

Mr. Duke is walking away with millions of dollars after making his company an even more hostile and abusive workplace than it was before. The “associates” are even worse off than they were before. And any NLRB action won’t really hurt such a colossus, because Congress has made it difficult to hold companies to account in any meaningful way. So it’s up to us to send a message to the Waltons and their latter-day sweatshops:
Don’t f***ing shop there today.

The only injury any business fears is the loss of profit. If we all say “f*** you” to Walmart and shop elsewhere, we can get their attention. And if we keep doing so, we can force change upon those greedy motherf***ing bastards that run the place.

There are lots of other places that offer great prices on Black Friday. This writer suggests you shop at small, independent local businesses whenever possible. More on that tomorrow. But even if you can’t keep it local (sometimes that is so), you can pick companies that offer a fair deal to you and their workers.
