Really? No, seriously, really? These guys should be praised, not shat upon. No wonder we have such a rape problem on college campuses (yes, we do have such a problem. Stop arguing, and STFU about those f***wits at Rolling Stone. One s***ty story in a s***ty magazine does not mean there isn’t a rape problem).

For those who care even less about football than this writer, here is the story: FSU’s rapist QB and his rape-enabling school got their nuts kicked in during the most recent Rose Bowl game. After that nice bit of Karma-On-The-Gridiron, some of the Ducks told off Florida’s raping QB. Here’s a quote from Deadspin:

Oregon mollywhopped Florida State by 39 to advance to the college football championship game, and while accepting the Rose Bowl trophy they decided to rub it in a little. Take one part rape allegations and one part ubiquitous chant, and you have this Vine of Oregon players taunting Jameis Winston and FSU with a “no means no” tomahawk chop chant. Oof.

Update: Here’s a statement from Oregon coach Mark Helfrich: “We are aware of the inappropriate behavior in the postgame. This is not what our programs stand for, and the student-athletes will be disciplined internally.”

Got that? A bunch of athletes say “rape is a bad thing”, and their school punishes them. Other athletes rape the s*** out of women and their schools ignore it at best, and tacitly reward them at worst. Jameis Winston is but one example of many a**hole jocks who feel a sense of entitlement to commit acts of sexual violence.

And they feel that entitlement because of messages like this one from Oregon. “Don’t send out anti-rape messages, it’s not sportsmanlike” is what Oregon’s administration is saying. And they are “disciplining” the football players who dare to defy the pro-rape culture that afflicts our nation. What a bunch of stupid-f***s.

Good on the Ducks who took that stand. No matter what their school thinks.

That’s because if you have to pee during your six-plus-hour wait to cast a ballot, the bathrooms are verboten. Closed. Not available. No matter how long the line, or if you are elderly, or if the weather is crap (oh, you can’t do that either-no potties for you voter types).
From the article:

Instead, he received a written response announcing that the county would close all restrooms at polling places “to ensure that individuals with disabilities are not treated unfairly,” a January email stated. “[T]he Department’s policy is not to permit access to restrooms at polling sites on election days,” Assistant County Attorney Shanika Graves said in a Feb. 14 email.

This latest voter-suppression effort is, of course, designed to keep the elderly, minorities and working poor from casting their ballots: Democratic voters, in other words. The local Board of Election is pretending that this is a decision based on the rights of the disabled, which is a lie more transparent than a hooker’s blouse. No, it’s Miami-Dade county doing what it does best: rigging elections so that “Republicans” win.

If it’s any comfort to all those voters waiting in long lines to vote this year: no matter the state of the diapers they may have to wear in order to exercise their franchise, they will never be as full of s*** as the elected officials who concocted this, well, crappy idea.

Take a gander at that flock of sphincter birdies: they were paid political operatives sent to Florida to stage a fake riot at a Board of Election, thus helping steal the 2000 election for Gee Dubya Bush. The idea was; create a false impression of public outrage and dissent that the government “had to deal with right away”, thus allowing “extraordinary measures” to be taken to “preserve public order”. As we all know by now, that effort was a success, and the Bushistas robbed, pillaged, and murdered their way across the country and the Middle East for 8 interminable years of illegitimate government.

This year in Crimea, Vladimir Putin and his oligarch buddies followed the same model: they sent in faux “demonstrators” to create the impression of disorder, and so Russia just HAD TO send in troops to restore order and allow the oppressed locals the opportunity to shuffle off those dreaded shackles of Western Oppression, blahblahblahblahBLAHblahblah. (Guns were required in Ukraine because they, unlike we wimpy Americans, were unlikely to allow a bunch of corrupt billionaires to steal their entire nation. We rolled over and accepted it without a fight.)

Now in Eastern Ukraine, what was done in Crimea and Florida is being done again. The Russians are staging more fake riots and creating a “need” for “immediate intervention” yadayadayada. And any number of Right Wingnuts would have you believe this is being done because of Obama’s “weakness”.

Nonsense: a President who orders the invasion of sovereign countries to kill our enemies there (via drones and SEAL teams, mostly) is not a wimp. Obama is a hard-assed Chicago lawyer who would cut off your wedding tackle if need be, were you a threat to him. And we have ample proof of this. Ask the Taliban and various Al-Quaida groups: well, ask the surviving members, that is. He has killed a s***load of ’em, and never shed a tear.

No, if Putin needed guidance from an American Prexy, he got it from the Shrub. What Russia is doing in Eastern Europe is straight out of the “Republican” south Florida playbook.

It’s just as transparent, just about as illegal, and just as successful as it was in 2000.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

That would be the “Republican” party, of course. They are, as they have been for many years, trying to suppress the vote, in order to limit the franchise to people like themselves, thereby cutting anyone is not male, rich, and white (and of late, a right wingnut) out of the action. From the article:

Pivotal swing states under Republican control are embracing significant new electoral restrictions on registering and voting that go beyond the voter identification requirements that have caused fierce partisan brawls.

The bills, laws and administrative rules — some of them tried before — shake up fundamental components of state election systems, including the days and times polls are open and the locations where people vote.

Republicans in Ohio and Wisconsin this winter pushed through measures limiting the time polls are open, in particular cutting into weekend voting favored by low-income voters and blacks, who sometimes caravan from churches to polls on the Sunday before election.

Notice this: it is an admittedly targeted set of blatantly unconstitutional laws that are designed to rig the game against those who might vote for the Democrats. The supposed reasons have been changing from “voter fraud” (which almost never happens) to “uniformity” ( demolished here ), but the measures remain the same.

One might think that when a problem changes, the solution would likewise change. And one would be right. The fact that the actions taken to remove our voting rights aren’t changing is all the proof you need that we are being screwed.

This writer sees a different problem, and thus a different solution: the problem is scumbucket politicians taking away our rights. The solution is to throw them into prison, and keep our rights intact.

Oh, and stop voting for the party that wants to take away your right to cast that ballot.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Here is the story of a ripoff being perpetrated on the public by some locations of a restaurant chain called “Gator’s Dockside”. These greedy, larcenous, lying bastards are charging customers a 1% “ACA fee” to cover costs of providing health insurance for employees of the eateries. One teeny tiny little catch: the ACA requirement doesn’t take effect until 2015.

Oh, and the employees aren’t getting the insurance yet. And they won’t until 2015. So the only reason for the fee is theft, plain and simple.

Of course, scam artists abound in America, and there is nothing unusual in thieves committing theft. But this does point up a rather common phenomenon: people using Obama as a scapegoat, smokescreen, or excuse for whatever crimes they wish to commit. And because of the stupidity, venality, xenophobia and racism of so many of us, these con jobs are all too often successful.

Next time you hear Thing One about how ObamaCare is raising our prices, inflating our costs, or other dire predictions of horrible health-care-related problems, remember the lies of these restauranteurs: they blamed Obama for the money they chose to steal from thousands of customers. And beware of the many other crooks who are also lying about the ACA for their own nefarious purposes.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Yes, that is what happened. A retired police officer named Curtis Reeves got so mad about young father Chad Oulson texting his young daughter during a movie, he shot the poor guy and his wife. Mr. Oulson was unarmed and is now dead, because he loved his daughter and texted her while he and his wife went out on a short date.

The murderer in this case was a highly trained public safety professional, and on the face of it would seem an unlikely person to just up and kill a man over such a petty thing as texting. That being the case, we all might want to think very hard about carrying guns with us in public places. Had Mister Reeves been carrying, say, mace instead of a .380, he would have been just as safe, and Mister Oulson’s daughter would still have her daddy.

But because Curtis Reeves is like so many Americans (cowardly little wussies who are too s***-scared to go to a friggin’ movie without a cannon jammed down their trousers), a cute young preschooler will have to live the rest of her life without her father, and her mother will have to raise her alone. All for no good reason.

The lesson here, friends, is that a “well-regulated militia” does not = a “bunch of idiots running around with handguns 24/7”. There ARE places in our country in which one would be advised to have a weapon; but a movie theatre during a matinee in a good neighborhood is not one of them. We have the right to keep and bear arms, and we also have the obligation to use that right responsibly.

And because some scaredy-cat old coot did NOT use his Second Amendment rights in a responsible manner, a grieving widow and her toddler are weeping over the loss of the man they loved. A loss that should not have happened. A loss that would not have happened if the old fart had been a good citizen, used his brain, and left his handgun locked up in the gun safe.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Governor Rick Scott of Florida, to be precise. Because of the funding cuts he ordered, dozens of innocent children were sent to live with child abusers, drug addicts, psychopaths and killers. Because of Rick Scott, these poor kids are dead.

Here is one example of his demands that children be put at risk. Scott claimed that cutting funds to the agency that is supposed to protect children was necessary to “create jobs”. He must have been thinking of jobs for undertakers, grave-diggers, and coffin makers.

And he wants more cuts. Yes, you read that correctly. Even though his hands are stained with the blood of innocent little kids, Rick Scott is OK with seeing even more of them die, so long as he and his cronies can pad their already-enormous bank accounts.

Gentle Reader, what does it say about a man, when he thinks it acceptable to add to his fortune by allowing children to suffer and die? This latter-day Ebeneezer Scrooge endorses the deaths of hundreds of Tiny Tims, but alas, there are no ghosts with sufficient power to awaken Governor Scott’s conscience. And so the children of Florida can’t count on a happy ending to their stories of anguish, privation, and abuse. Not this Christmas. Maybe never.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

They took an image that mocked them, thought it praised them, and put it on their Facebook page. So they stole copyrighted material and distributed that stolen material around the world (hint: these are crimes), AND revealed themselves as the idiots they are at the same time.

Classic extremist behavior. Click the link to see the details. And if you are reading this and support the Tea Party, you might want to reconsider. Unless, of course, you are a stupid crook yourself.

Me. Blunt and Cranky

FreespeechSee that guy? He was arrested yesterday in Wisconsin, for holding up a sign saying: “Article 1, Section 4”. That is the little tiny part of their state Constitution that guarantees residents of that state the right to freedom of speech. The cops took umbrage to a citizen holding a sign that cited the law, so they cuffed him and threw him in jail.

Moral-Monday-July-arrests_Andrew-Dye-Winston-Salem-Journal-586x1024See that guy? He’s a octogenarian military veteran, arrested for peaceable assembly in North Carolina. The Repubs that own that state took umbrage at a senior citizen who walks with a cane reminding the people what a real hero looks like, so they cuffed him and threw him in jail, too.

“Republicans”, you see, have ticked off a lot of people lately. These ticked-off people have been engaging in peaceful protest, and the GOP is now ticked off right back. So, they have started arresting protesters.

All that has accomplished thus far is to bring out more protesters. And tourists who wanted to see the protesters. So, the Elephants decided to arrest even more people. Result? Even MORE protesters and gawkers.

So now, those a**holes Repubs in Cheese Country can arrest you for no reason if you are anywhere they don’t want you to be. Really. Click the link if you don’t believe it. Same deal in North Carolina. That’s upping the ante, all right: Even Bush the Dumber didn’t go so far as busting innocent people for breathing in the wrong place.

“Innocent? Bah, Humbug” says Scott Fitzgerald, one of the Grand Old Poohbahs of the occupying force Wisconsin GOP. “Innocence does not matter, we have a state to milk for all it is worth”. (OK, that is not a verbatim transcript of his remarks. But it does capture the essence. What he did say is damned nearly as bad, or even worse: “If you are in the vicinity of the illegal demonstrations that have been taking place over the noon hour in the rotunda, you will be considered part of the protests and are subject to being ticketed.”) Yes that’s right. Even if you aren’t involved in the protest, they’ll bust you for being nearby one.

Ask one innocent bystander:

Joe Meiller, a Madison Metro bus driver who brought his two sons to watch the singalong Friday from the balcony, was upset that he was asked to leave by Capitol police. “We didn’t sing or clap once,” Meiller said. “If I observe a bank robbery nearby, am I a participant because I was nearby?”

That’s your Republican America today, friends: people being arrested for not liking Republican policies, and saying so politely. That’s what your Republicans see as “freedom of speech”: you can say anything you want, so long as they agree with it. And shut up if you don’t like Repubs, or they’ll throw your a** in jail.

Even if you don’t say a word. Even if you’re nearly crippled. Even if you weren’t part of the protest at all. Jailed, by Imperial Republican decree. Freedom of speech? Not hardly.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

P.S. Other people who were punished for either protesting or being nearby a protest against “Republican” policies on May 4, 1970:

kent 1 Wounded Kent State student John Cleary is attended to by other s KENT STATE 7cs

Yes, that’s blood. Yes, they are dead. Think it can’t happen again? Think again.

Every time Mr. Blunt and Cranky sees one of those idiot Facebook posts about “drug testing welfare recipients”, his response is the same: first thing, let’s test the politicians. They get a lot more money than any poor schmuck, and can cause a lot more damage. And in the main, people applaud the idea of testing politicos. But they keep right on spouting the bulls*** “drug test the poor” idea.

So here’s one example of a hypocritical drug-test-the-poor politician : one Chuck Sims, just busted for his second DUI, and yep, a strong proponent of the aforementioned bulls*** idea. That idea, by the way, assumes guilt on the part of the recipient: and that drunken crook Mr. Sims is demanding that we assume that he is innocent. So we see that the whole drug-testing-the-poor campaign is a bulls*** idea, but people keep on spouting it anyway.

Another argument against the bulls*** idea is Florida, where the Guv pushed through a plan that failed in every respect. Oh, and one of his wife’s companies was getting paid to do drug tests under the law that Rick Scott signed. So again, a politician fails an ethical test that he thinks others should pass, but he keeps on spouting the bulls*** idea anyway.

There is almost no evidence that there is a problem with poor folk using public funds to buy drugs, but when does evidence enter into such matters? People keep on spouting bulls*** ideas anyway.

This writer will keep on insisting that our politicos, who can and scam we taxpayers out of millions of dollars, be the ones that we subject to drug tests, financial tests, and every other sort of scrutiny the law allows. And let’s realize that those “public servants” are getting away with all sorts of crooked activities, all the while distracting us with the bulls*** ideas that the vast majority of us believe and spout anyway.
