Holy Mary, can you believe this crap? This “Republican” is such a racist, anti-American f***wad, even other Teabaggers are disgusted:

ST. PETERSBURG — As Americans honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, a Republican candidate for Florida House District 68 said President Barack Obama should be hanged for war crimes.

“I’m past impeachment,” Joshua Black wrote on Twitter. “It’s time to arrest and hang him high.”

Do you need any more information? Teapublicans are a load of treasonous, racist, murderous louts who need to be voted out of office at every opportunity. Because to elect them is to give them approval.

And unless you like lynching black men, you REALLY shouldn’t approve of racist Teabaggers.

20140121-083052.jpg Yesterday’s MLK holiday produced the usual passive-aggressive racist twaddle from twits like Sarah Palin, who would like us to believe that there is no more racism in the world, blah blah blah. And we also got extremely aggressive racism from the “fashion and art” world, which decided it was a great day to publish a racist, sexist, forced servitude-endorsing image. Said image being cropped and re-issued after a few thousand people told the editors that the picture was disgusting, but not disavowed or apologized for.

The perpetrator of this outrage is a privileged “socialite” and wife of a Russian criminal gangster oligarch, and she has as yet said nothing about the picture of her scrawny white rich-assed self objectifying, using and degrading black women. But there are only a few reasons for posting such an image:
Number A: to use an offensive image to create publicity,
Letter 2: because she is such a rich little stupid-f*** that she doesn’t even know this is insulting, or
Thirdly: she hates her some black women. Hates them a LOT.

Regardless of her actual reason, the fact that this happened on a holiday that honors a slain civil rights leader shows us that humans have not created a color-blind, classless, or gender-equal world. And as long as a billionaire thinks it acceptable to visually exhibit her “superior” position in the world in such a humiliating, degrading, and arrogant fashion as this, we will continue to inhabit a world that oppresses anyone who is not rich, white, and male.

And to hell with that.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

On edit – it appears the “artist” is not happy that the picture got used in this fashion, and a good bit of passive-voice “explanation” has been to the above link, to tell us all how so-not-racist she is. Fair enough. So who DOES bear the blame? Let me know and I’ll update the post accordingly.

Racial equality wasn’t all that big a deal to the plutocracy (AKA the 1%), because they weren’t going to lose any money from it. But when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. started the Poor People’s Campaign, that’s when s*** got real. A multi-racial, cross-class movement for economic justice? That was gonna cost some change.

And if you think about it, the leaders of every movement that tried to empower the many and free them from the oppression of the few have been so treated. Jesus, and Gandhi, to name a few. Others survived (like Mandela) but suffered horribly as they were made an example of by the 1% of their day.

Because ultimately the color wars, the culture wars, the party wars, all are of relatively little import to those who would use the world as their own private slush fund. They matter to US, we who are not of the Plutocratic Elite, but all they care about is cash and control. When wealth and power are put on the table, that is when people start getting killed, to protect the fortunes and privileges of the few. If they can mute the voices of freedom and justice, they will do so: but kill they will, if they deem it expedient and to their own benefit.

The leaders of Occupy managed to avoid King’s fate, because they refused (wisely) to have one single person as their capital-L Leader. Their message was marginalized by less drastic means. But marginalized it was, because when it comes to wealth, any and all means will be used to maintain the positions of the Plutocrats.

Remember, Gentle Reader, as you honor Dr. King on this day: he did not only die because he wanted people of color to be free: he died because he wanted all of us to share in the fruits of our labor. That is why he was murdered, as were other warriors before him. And we can best honor him by carrying on that fight.

Mister Blunt and Cranky

PS: This is not intended as slight on those who have bravely fought for justice based on color, creed, class and culture. Those are serious struggles and are very important to the vast majority of us. This post is about the economic aspect of Dr. King’s legacy, which is ofttimes overlooked.

20131122-081842.jpg This flyer was put on doorsteps all over Dallas just before President Kennedy arrived there, fifty years ago. It was part of an organized and deliberate “conservative” hate-speech campaign that ended with the death of a President.

After Kennedy’s assasination, many groups of people learned many lessons: The city of Dallas learned that being the “City of Hate” was NOT a good thing, and has been trying to change ever since that terrible day.
The radical Left thought the lesson was “violence works”, and tried it themselves. They quickly realized that they learned the wrong lesson, and stopped doing that stupid s***.
The civil rights movement learned that “conservatives” were even crazier and more violent than they thought, and changed tactics as a result.
Liberals learned that when “conservatives” used hateful and violent rhetoric, they really mean it, and started using the courts to try to make their own assassinations less likely.

And the “Conservatives” that caused the Kennedy killing? Why, they’re doing the same thing to Obama that they did to Kennedy: hate speech, violent rhetoric, ad nauseum – nay, ad infinitum. They still think that the lesson of 11/22 is “violence works”.

Which once again shows that those stupid f***s couldn’t poor pee out of a boot without a thirty-page instruction manual: in fact, they probably wouldn’t even read the thing at all, and just wind up making a terrible, stinking mess. No, what happened as a result of the assassination of Kennedy (and Kennedy, and King) was the beatification of them as individuals and the advancement of their agendas. So, the Raging Righties in their Tightie Whities pretty clearly haven’t got a f***ing clue as to what they did in 1963, or what they’re doing now, or the consequences of either.

They helped to kill a sitting President with their words and actions fifty years ago today. They are trying to do it again, because they were never held to account for their despicable actions back then. So maybe the lesson that “Republicans” learned from 11/22/63 was this: “We got away with it. Let’s do it again”. It certainly looks that way, doesn’t it?

In the “nobody could be THAT sleazy” competition of 2013, the Virginia Senate’s GOP caucus has truly raised the bar for all the other sleazebuckets who would contend for the title. This was sleaze combined with racism, gall, and a truly epic flip o’ the bird to any sense of cooperation, bipartisanship, respect, or fair play. We are talking EPIC, here, peeps: Wow.

Short version: while a black State Senator ( and veteran of the Civil Rights movement) was, on Martin Luther King Day attending the public inauguration of a black President, the Virginia Repubs took advantage of his absence to ram a gerrymandering plan through that would diminish the impact of minority votes. You see, had he been there, there would have been a 20:20 tie between the Elephants and the Donkeys, and the bill would have been debated and passed (or not) on a bipartisan basis.

But nooooooo. The “republicans” in Virginia want to rig future elections by gerrymandering the state and to Hell with the wishes of the governed. Those voters expressed their wishes by electing equal numbers of Repubs and Dems. Got that? Virginians explicitly rejected partisanship with their votes. But the GOP could give a rat’s fart about what the electorate wants: for them it is all about power and wealth for their party and those that bribe them.

Oh, and the racism: after all the slights against black folk already named above, and the dirty pool played in order to screw black voters and elected officials; when their “work” was done, the Senate adjourned “in memory of Thomas J. ‘Stonewall’ Jackson”.

Just to make it crystal clear: after taking a number of questionable actions that were specifically targeted to hurt black people, on Martin Luther King Day, the Virginia Senate “republicans” chose to honor a Confederate General. You know, a guy who betrayed his service oath and took up arms against his country in order to keep black people in chains.

Virginia voters, you can do two things: either embrace your Pro-Slavery Republicans; or kick their asses until they stop doing this crap. By your choice, we shall know you.
