Almost none of the women that this writer knows are stupid. In fact, a preponderance of them are smarter than, well, stupid old white guys like him. And thank the Gods for that. The world needs more smart people. But the GOP has a desperate need for the exact opposite: they need women to become stupid. Lots of women. In a big hurry. But only until they cast a ballot this November.

You see, Repubs know that their War On Women has pissed off a lot of women. So now they are trying to find a way to fool women into thinking that the GOPee really doesn’t hate them, so that they can get a few more votes. And the way they’re going about it?

By f***ing women out of getting their birth control covered by insurance, and pretending that it is a “benefit”. Here is a good piece on the matter. A few excerpts:

A string of Republican candidates for Senate are supporting an issue usually associated with Democrats: increased access to contraception.
They’re supporting it on the road and in ads, like this one from pro-life conservative Cory Gardner:In it, he says he believes “the pill ought to be available over the counter, round the clock, without a prescription.”

The catch? OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDS ARE ALMOST NEVER
COVERED BY INSURANCE, that’s the catch. It’s Hobby Lobby 2: another way to screw women out of equal access to health care. At a stroke, they would further fatten rich people’s wallets and discriminate against women. Not that Repubs are admitting it. But even NPR has cottoned on:

Calling for an over the counter pill allows Republicans to support access to birth control while also supporting the right of corporations to avoid covering it. Getting the pill at a pharmacy without a prescription leaves insurers and employers out of the picture altogether.

Got it, Gentle Reader? We’re talking maybe hundreds of dollars a year that women would have to cough up. It’s a cynical ploy, and an insulting one at that. Add to that sexist, unfair, and any number of other perjoratives. Republicans hate women and have indeed declared war on them. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t act towards females as Ray Rice does in elevators (Offended by the comparison? Well, OK, maybe it’s unfair. After all, the “Republican” party has injured LOTS more women than Mr. Rice has).

Women are not deserving of such blatant and systemic hostility and abusive action from anyone, be it individuals or an entire political party. We all owe it to ourselves to vote the scum out of office. AND cover everyone’s health care without caveats.

We’re ALL smart enough to know that it’s unfair for men to get their Woody Pills covered while women can’t get their reproductive prescriptions paid for as well. Let’s act like we’re that smart when we vote.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

You see, he died because health insurers refused to pay for the care he needed: had they paid for it, they wouldn’t have made as much profit. He died so that millionaires can get even richer, and that’s the ONLY God-damned reason he died.

So here’s a big “Fuck You” to anyone and everyone who opposes Health Care Reform. It could have saved his life.

Here’s another one to anyone who opposes the Affordable Care Act (flawed though it is, it at least kept my boy alive a bit longer).

Here’s a big “Fuck YOU, Motherfucker” to all the legislators and pundits who are still trying to block further improvements in accountability, care, coverage and quality in our national health care system.

Simply put, if you are in favor of a health care system that is purely based on greed and profit (as America’s is and has been), then you are in favor of people dying so millionaires can get even richer. And yes, Fuck You for that.

Fuck You, John Boehner. Fuck You, Mitch McConnell. Fuck You, Aetna. Fuck You, Sam Brownback. Fuck everyone who is like you, too.

You want objectivity when my kid got killed, motherfucker? Yeah, right. If it was your kid, you’d be saying the same thing I’m saying right now. So, no, I’m not objective on this topic.

And fuck it, I don’t care. Aetna banked big bucks, their people got bonuses, and where did that money come from? It came from denying care and saving money thereby: and by so doing, killing people like my son. So fuck objectivity. Sometimes, objectivity is just a bunch of rationalized, sophist bullshit.

In closing, here’s one more “FUCK YOU, MOTHERFUCKER” FOR ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTS THE POLICIES THAT KILLED MY KID.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

P.S. Here’s a big shout-out to the President for still standing by the ACA when so many evil, greedy motherfuckers have been buying congresscritters to try and kill more people with bad insurance. And a big boot up the asses of those bought politicos.

Though you wouldn’t know it from all the doom and gloom emanating from the wingnut whores pundits of the Right, over nine million more of the American people now have health insurance, thanks entirely to President Obama and Democrats (the GOP, you will remember, voted for none of it). From the article:

The long-awaited Rand Corp. study of Obamacare’s effect on health insurance coverage was released Tuesday and confirmed the numbers that had been telegraphed for more than a week: At least 9.3 million more Americans have health insurance now than in September 2013, virtually all of them as a result of the law.

That’s a net figure, accommodating all those who lost their individual health insurance because of cancellations. The Rand study confirms other surveys that placed the number of people who lost their old insurance and did not or could not replace it — the focus of an enormous volume of anti-Obamacare rhetoric — at less than 1 million. The Rand experts call this a “very small” number, less than 1% of the U.S. population age 18 to 64.

Rand is not some rinky-dinky outfit: they have been around for decades and are the uber-competent and impartial number-crunching outfit. They don’t give a rat’s fart about which party is in power, because they know both Repubs and Dems need them.

Compared with the idiotic, fact-challenged, hyper-partisan punditocracy, Punditocracy, there really isn’t much of a choice to be made here: facts rule, and blowhards drool.

The ACA is working, and facts prove it. Anybody who says otherwise is a liar or an idiot. Either way, they lose.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Because it’s pretty effing obvious that they’ve never read his works. He never promoted unregulated free markets: in fact, he advocated for individuals and governments to control capitalism, and to take into account the needs of people, no matter which economic and social strata they may occupy. Our “Republican” “leaders” and their corporate paymasters are willfully ignorant of these facts, damn their manifold “souls”.

A few sample Adam Smith quotes for all y’all who haven’t read him:

“It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.”

Yeah, but don’t tell that to the BoehnerBots.

“No society can surely be flourishing and happy of which by far the greater part of the numbers are poor and miserable.”

Again, the Baggers and their puppeteers have evidently missed this little bon mot.

“Our merchants and masters complain much of the bad effects of high wages in raising the price and lessening the sale of goods. They say nothing concerning the bad effects of high profits. They are silent with regard to the pernicious effects of their own gains. They complain only of those of other people.”

Pretty obvious reference to the 1-percenters of his day and ours, innit?

:“The great source of both the misery and disorders of human life, seems to arise from over-rating the difference between one permanent situation and another. Avarice over-rates the difference between poverty and riches: ambition, that between a private and a public station: vain-glory, that between obscurity and extensive reputation. The person under the influence of any of those extravagant passions, is not only miserable in his actual situation, but is often disposed to disturb the peace of society, in order to arrive at that which he so foolishly admires.”

Sounds a lot like Repubs and Teabagggers, does it not?

More of his quotes can be found here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/14424.Adam_Smith But if you can, you really ought to read all of his Wealth of Nations writings, because the man was the kind of capitalist that has nearly gone extinct in these decadent modern times.

This writer hopes that whatever eventual tribunal metes out justice to these Teabagging scumbuckets remembers one more Adam Smith quote:

“Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent.”

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

P.S.: What prompted this rant? Why, ’twas this article on a skanky lobbyist who played both sides of the street during the recent ACA imbroglio. Said scuzzbucket is the recipient of ALEC’s “Adam Smith Free Enterprise Award”. ALEC is, of course, the über-teabagger lobbying group that wants to ban all regulations, so the very notion of those f***wits naming an award after Adam Smith is so far beyond ironic as to be beyond belief.

Yesterday, your humble correspondent called a medical provider and asked for some supplies to be sent to chez Cranky. He was told that there would be a several-day delay: due to all of the newly-insured people that were getting medical care, they were having to order more supplies, and hire more help to meet demand. I replied that I understood, and thanked the harried woman on the other end of the phone.

After hanging up, a victory yell was heard by everyone on earshot: because, you see, this was proof that the Affordable Care Act is working. Here’s why:
Number A: lots of newly-insured people are getting life-saving medical care.
Letter 2: people are getting jobs to help provide care to the newly insured.
Thirdly: companies that make medical supplies will likewise have to add more staff, and order more raw materials, which means more jobs further down the supply chain.
Finally: all these increases will result in price reductions due to economies of scale.

The ACA is a long way from perfection, I grant you: but it also takes us a long way towards better health care for us all.

Proven by this example, and millions of others just like it, across the country. Thanks, Mister President.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

That is pretty much what Hobby Lobby is saying. They are demanding the right to discriminate against the  American women who happen to work for them; to dictate the religion of all their employees; and to dump certain of their business expenses onto we the taxpayers.

For those readers who have not followed the case: before ObamaCare, it was easier to get insurance coverage for Viagra than for birth control. This was so obviously, stupidly unfair that the ACA said “stop that discriminatory s***”. So far, so Constitutional, you would say, and you would be right.

But the Fundagelical He-Man Woman-Haters club at Hobby Lobby got all hairy hosed off at having their “right” to f*** over the womenfolk amongst them taken away, so they claimed a ridiculous “Religious” case against the ACA and that “despicable Kenyan” Prexy who stole it from the Romneybots. That idiotic claim is up before the Supremes this week.

And the bad thing is, the Roberts court is as likely to rule on the basis of partisanship as they are the Constitution. So this bit of illegal bulls*** might be made legal by those right-wing robed barbarians. If that happens, we the people will have to render justice.

And we can do so without breaking a single law: we just stop shopping at Hobby Lobby or any other business they are involved in. Run them into the ground and on to bankruptcy.

Because if these misogynistic motherf***ers have no business, they’ll have no employees to discriminate against.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Here is the story of a ripoff being perpetrated on the public by some locations of a restaurant chain called “Gator’s Dockside”. These greedy, larcenous, lying bastards are charging customers a 1% “ACA fee” to cover costs of providing health insurance for employees of the eateries. One teeny tiny little catch: the ACA requirement doesn’t take effect until 2015.

Oh, and the employees aren’t getting the insurance yet. And they won’t until 2015. So the only reason for the fee is theft, plain and simple.

Of course, scam artists abound in America, and there is nothing unusual in thieves committing theft. But this does point up a rather common phenomenon: people using Obama as a scapegoat, smokescreen, or excuse for whatever crimes they wish to commit. And because of the stupidity, venality, xenophobia and racism of so many of us, these con jobs are all too often successful.

Next time you hear Thing One about how ObamaCare is raising our prices, inflating our costs, or other dire predictions of horrible health-care-related problems, remember the lies of these restauranteurs: they blamed Obama for the money they chose to steal from thousands of customers. And beware of the many other crooks who are also lying about the ACA for their own nefarious purposes.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Deny it all you want, but that is what’s happening. In Red states that have refused to take free Federal money for Medicaid expansion, hospitals are closing and babies are dying. Each and every state that is refusing Medicaid Expansion is run by Teabagging “Republicans” who hates them some Obama. Click the links if you don’t believe it. So it’s clear: these slimy creeps are willing to see you and your kids die, so just so they can go “nanny-nanny-boo-boo” to the President of the United States.

You have to wonder why an allegedly “pro-life” party would deliberately ensure the deaths of thousands of people, including infants. One also wonders why a party that loves state-level governance is passing on billions of dollars in free money. The reason is plain and simple: they hate our President and anything that has his name anywhere near it.

Today as this is being written, hospitals are preparing to close. People whose lives could have been saved are dying. And it is for petty political payback, by a bunch of vindictive “Republicans” who are willing to see innocent blood shed in order to inflict harm on our President. That’s a lot of blood on the paws of those scumbag Red politicians.

And if you vote “Republican”, Gentle Reader, there is blood on your hands, too. If you don’t love dead babies, then don’t vote for Repubs. If you don’t like dead senior citizens, don’t vote for Repubs.

If you DO vote for a GOP candidate, you express your support for deliberately causing the death of thousands of your fellow citizens. By your choice we will know you.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

These people are miles beyond insanity. They believe that Obama is using mass hypnosis to control the American electorate, for one example of their crazitude. They also oppose evidence-based medicine, vaccination, and generally hang out on the far right wing of the political spectrum. To the right of, say, Attila the Hun.

They are such a bats*** insane bunch of crazies that even the hyper-partisan US Supreme Court ignores their “legal” filings. Yesterday, for example, Bircher-Boy John Roberts bounced their latest anti-ObamaCare suit out of the Court without so much as a cursory explanation.

Like the Constituitional Peace Officers group we pilloried yesterday, this deliberately-misnamed organization is a fringe group of clinically insane crackpots (by the bye, the AAPS also opposes mental health care funding, the better to not have themselves diagnosed and committed) with a purely political agenda that is opposed by the vast majority of Americans. They want a State that is simultaneously libertarian and authoritarian: that, friends, is insanity of the most magnificent sort.

The lesson of the day is to look beyond the name of an organization to see what they actually stand for. As Fielding once wrote, “garbage by any other name doth stink”. These crazy f***ers at AAPS stink to high heaven.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Lots of people are blaming ObamaCare for their health policy cancellations and premium increases. These people are either stupid or have no long-term memory functions. The health insurers have been screwing us and in some cases killing us, all so they can make obscene profits and live lives of luxury while we go bankrupt or worse. And they are still doing so. Note this well, Cranky Nation: the real enemy has not changed.

The reason policies are being cancelled and premiums jacked up is a business decision: to increase profits for the health insurance companies. It has nothing to do with Obama. Same with network limitations, co-pay increases, and the other impacts we are seeing. It is a way for the business to make money.

And that is what for-profit businesses do. They make money. They always have, and always will. In fact, that is the natural order of things.

Now, if the government ran the health care system, none of this would happen. You’d pay your taxes and get your health care, because governments don’t have to make a profit. In fact, they can’t. They are graded on how well or poorly they deliver services, not on how much money they make. So they will deliver better care. Look at every other industrial democracy if you don’t believe it.

But the same memory-challenged fools that are stupidly blaming Obama for raising their rates are in most cases also the same idiots who oppose national health care, so we should not be surprised when they say stupid s***. And we shouldn’t expect the media to report these stories accurately, or for the greedy motherf***ers who run for-profit health care companies to be honest.

But we SHOULD expect ourselves to remember that insurance companies have been f***ing us for many years now, and we should blame them first when they continue to f*** us. Otherwise, WE are the idiots, and deserve those painful, unhealthy reamings.
