At least, that is the only conclusion to be drawn from George Zimmerman’s recent autograph session at an Orlando gun show, and photo op at a gun shop. Hundreds of people from the “get away with murder state” lined up to kiss George’s pimply backside, thus showing their support for his actions.

And his actions were as follows: stalking, assaulting, and murdering an unarmed minor in cold blood. So if you support Zimmerman, you support kiddie-killing.

Don’t like that characterization, oh Gun-Nutter Floridians? Are you offended by being called out for the racist, child-killer wannabees that you most obviously are? Then show us differently. For now, the shoe, having fit you so well, remains on your foot.

“Florida: Paradise for Child Murderers”. It has a certain ring to it, and is 100% accurate, too.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

Obama said it: http://news.yahoo.com/-obama–trayvon-martin-%E2%80%98could-have-been-me-35-years-ago%E2%80%99–180734663.html Click the link and read what the man said.

“And for those who resist that idea—that we should think about something like these ‘stand your ground’ laws—I just ask people to consider: If Trayvon Martin was of age and armed, could he have stood his ground on that sidewalk? And do we actually think that he would have been justified in shooting Mr. Zimmerman, who had followed him in a car, because he felt threatened?” the president said.

“And if the answer to that question is at least ambiguous, then it seems to me that we might want to examine those kinds of laws,” Obama said.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky is hardly a fan of the President, as his readers well know. But dammit, the man is right on this one. Stand Your Ground laws are nothing more or less than the Old West come again. Gun battles on the streets will be the logical result of this policy.

Think about it: Armed Citizen Number A meets Armed Citizen Letter 2. Both feel threatened by the other. A gun battle ensues, because both shooters are justified under Stand Your Ground (SYG) laws. Somebody dies, nobody can be charged, and people realize they can kill anyone they damned well please just by claiming that they were all skeered and s***.

The more people on the ground with guns and nebulous rules of engagement, the more shootings and shootouts we will see. Just like Sanford. But all over the country. Not just one kid, but many times many.

And criminals are using SYG in the course of their business: for example, the burglar who used SYG to justify shooting the man he was robbing. Yes, it really happened: http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/07/17/2308681/stand-your-ground-south-carolina/?mobile=nc And it’s just gonna get crazier, peeps.

Just this once, everybody, let’s listen to the man in the White House. The rule of law is what America is based on. We tried the Wild West, and it didn’t work. That’s a big reason for all the handgun laws we have now, you know..

So instead of continuing to let the arms industry con us into financing their money-making schemes by trying to cram more and guns into every pocket we own, let’s go back to what worked for decades.

Instead of going waaaay back to what didn’t.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

P.S. The “lying sack of s***” award will return next Saturday. This topic was more important than a sarky dose of snark.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/04/13/officer-accused-of-having-trayvon-martin-target/2080989/

is a link to the story of a truly epic bit of racist stupidity. A police sergeant showed up at weapons practice with targets that he most likely found humorous: targets made to resemble Trayvon Martin.

Said sergeant then invited the others at the range to use the targets, too. To their credit, they told him to pound sand. The cop has since been fired, which shows that the rest of his department is not as stupid as he is.

The next question is, how many sick f***s also buy and shoot at pictures of an innocent young man who was murdered by another bigoted jerkoff with a gun? Any is too many.
