Sometimes Mr. Blunt and Cranky happens upon a post that deserves sharing. Thus it is today, with this bit of awesomeness from Internet DJ Mr. Scorpio:

Today, as it just so happens, I found out that Sarah Palin is worth twelve million dollars

Marinate on that thought for a moment: As a person who all but demonstrates the intellectual dexterity of a rusty crankshaft all of the time, she has somehow accumulated twelve million dollars.

Obviously, you don’t need to be smart in order to get rich in America. That much is sure.

Now, how much of that she had before she became America’s most egregious example of poor family planning, I don’t know.

But she’s rich beyond her dreams of avarice now. Scratch that… Her dreams of avarice knows no bounds, as long as there are gaggles of willing rubes for her to grift. Hence, we see her advantage.

Basically, to get rich, all she had to do was invest in a complete lack of scruples. Let’s forget about any moral compass that she may have… It only points toward money.

Just recently, our favorite Wicked Grifter of the North indicated that she may toss her pointed hat into the political ring in some upcoming election. Now we’re talking about a person who’s too moronic to be voted dog catcher, but that’s not going to prevent her from exercising her delusions of grandeur, now is it?

Say whatever you will about this babbling, gun toting wolf murderer, she has a purpose and she has the blindingly stupid belief in herself to achieve that purpose. Personally, I’m aghast that she incoherently blundered her way into accumulating 12 million dollars. This says even less about her than it says about how many people who are walking around today who are willing to give her all of that money.

Many of these people vote, I’m sure of that. And they consistently vote wrong.

Now, I’m not worried for one second that Caribou Barbie is going to stumble into the Oval Office. If she can still operate her lucrative business model in the same way she has for the last six years, getting elected would be too expensive for her and limiting as well.

The grift is on. That’s all that matters. Whatever she does, just remember that no one ever got rich by underestimating the stupidity of the American people.

In Bible Spice’s case, quite the opposite.

Nice takedown of the Sparklemoose, innit? Thanks to the author for allowing this repost. Check out his writing and musical activities.

Mr. Blunt and Cranky

So, ol’ Willie has done picked himself a Veep-To-Be, and it is that famous Deficit Hawk Paul Ryan.  Teabaggers are happier than clams, and pundits of all stripes are having themselves lots of fun yammering away. Mister Blunt and Cranky, being a big pay-as-you-go fan (AKA a hater o’ deficits), might be happy as well, but he knows a bit too much about the real Paul Ryan, the one who acts like a deficit hawk  but in fact picks our pockets like the two-faced master thief that he is.

(Feel free to Googlify all these claims if you don’t believe The Cranky One, of course): Ryan voted for all of Bush The Dumber’s deficit-creating budgets that wiped out a previous surplus; he voted for TARP, which added to the Bush deficit, and voted for the auto bailout, which bloated the Bush deficit even further.  Ryan a deficit hawk? Feh.

Adding insult to injury, Ryan is also a classic D.C thief: stealing money from our pockets to line his own. How can this be said? Easily, it turns out: look at 2011 and the budget he pushed:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/06/17/paul-ryan-s-shrewd-budget-payday-congressman-could-benefit-from-tax-breaks-he-proposes.html

Short version for the link-averse: Paul Ryan pushed a budget that would give tens of billions of dollars in handouts to the Oil Bidness. Such is business as usual in D.C., the Fossil Boys spend thousands buying politicians so they can get those billions. What makes this case different is that Ryan’s budget also paid off for his own family, who own land that is being drilled by the beneficiaries of the budget Ryan wrote.

Just to make this crystal–clear: Ryan wrote a budget that would take money from our pockets and transfers it to his bank account, and to those of his family. He is robbing all us “Peters” to pay, well, Paul (himself). In 2009, he and his wife pocketed $ 117,000.00 from his Big Oil Buddies, and another $60,000.00 in 2010.

Get the picture? This “deficit hawk” is nothing more than a typical Washington crook with a great bulls*** story. He wants to take away the benefits that we pay for with our tax dollars, steal the money saved, and put it in his pockets and those of his cronies. Oh, and he’ll further bloat the deficit he claims to want to cut. It’s just another con-artist politico, shoveling fertilizer at us and calling it caviar. A vote for Romney is a vote for Ryan, and a vote for Ryan gives him permission to steal your money and keep it for himself.

Mr. B & C.

A while back, Mister Blunt and Cranky wrote a post about paying attention to the pronouncements of Leaders: https://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2012/04/18/they-tell-us-what-they-will-do-but-we-dont-believe-them/

Take a minute and read it: take your time, no rush, this post will be waiting when you return…OK, welcome back. As the post said, when politicos say they are gonna do stuff, they frequently do unto us exactly what they said they would. And now is a very good time to pay attention to what the party candidates are saying (we will ignore Obama in this post, because we have all been listening to his spiel for 5 or 6 years now and have it pretty much  down), because what they say now is what they will do if elected.

Willie Romney has picked a far-right ideologue to be his Veep: One Paul Ryan,  beloved of tea partiers and the bane of many others. A few peeps are surprised , but not the Crankster: Romney has been talking far-right smack for a good long while now:

“My view is that marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman. That’s the position I’ve had for some time, and I don’t intend to make any adjustments at this point… Or ever, by the way.”

“Through pro-growth policies, by abolishing Obamacare and eliminating other Obama-imposed impediments to economic growth, we will get our economy back on track.”

“Of course you get rid of Obamacare, that’s the easy one, but there are others,” he said. “Planned Parenthood, we’re going to get rid of that.”

And Paul Ryan has a fair few choice quotes to which one might pay a wee bit of attention; here’s a really scary one:

“The reason I got involved in public service, by and large, if I had to credit one thinker, one person, it would be Ayn Rand.”

And so on. Listen to what they are saying, and look at what they have proposed: Tax cuts for the rich, paid for with cuts to things like roads, bridges, schools, and screwing us out of the Social Security and Medicare benefits that we have all been paying for over the decades. They will take away the good bits of Obamacare and deregulate the insurance companies.  They will outlaw birth control and make choice illegal. They will also deregulate banks, oil companies, and anyone else who has a few million bucks to stuff in their pockets. More money will flow to their bank accounts and less will remain in yours.

This is what Romney and Ryan have said they’ll do. They will do it. If you vote for them, you’d better want them to take away your money and  protection and services you have paid for, because that is what is gonna happen.

Yes, they really mean it. No, they are not kidding.
